It took me 3 months but I finally wrote a little bit more about my trip to New Orleans back in March. Cafe Du Monde to be specific. I'm telling you, that town is magical. I found a place in Seattle last week that had beignets on the menu. They were good, but no comparison. None.

It is my duty to ask this question, which place had the beignets?

Marcela's Cookery in Pioneer Square. I hear they also have them at the Center House (hello food court) at the Seattle Center though I've never tried them there. Oh, and also Cafe Flora which I have tried before but it's been a while.

I think that was my favorite part of what I saw of New Orleans. That and the ironwork.

I have tried the ones at the center house in the Seattle center, and I liked them... but I don't have anything else to compare to know how good they are. By the way, in Swahili, they have something similar and they call it mandazi
